97 tracked changesAutonomous Flight, Advanced Coding Assistants, and Lower Quantum Entry Barriers
Today's developments showcase major updates in autonomous drone operations, agentic software engineering tools, and a drastic price drop for hands-on quantum computing access.
01
Drones Expand Autonomous Flying Capabilities
Increased drone autonomy allows both military and commercial operators to execute complex, high-stakes missions with less manual piloting.
02
Software Development Tools Push Toward Full Agents
Coding assistants are shifting from simple autocompletion to highly autonomous agents that can debug, test, and write code directly in professional developer environments.
03
Quantum Computing Access Becomes Far More Affordable
A dramatic drop in entry costs allows independent researchers and smaller startups to experiment with real quantum hardware and simulations.

One email a week: what moved, what it costs now, and the chart that explains it.
Why this exists
It started as a study aid for an emerging technology course at UC Berkeley Haas.
The reading list went stale faster than the syllabus could be printed. Models shipped mid-semester, pricing moved between lectures, and half the tools discussed in week three had renamed or repositioned themselves by week eight. Keeping up daily was the actual work — so this became the place to do it once, in public, for everyone else in the room.
That's still the brief: track what changed since you last looked, show the century of research that made it possible, and be honest about which numbers are confirmed and which are not.
